Rapid Data Collection, a term that Robert has started using for describing the process Oz Drone Operations created to service the needs of our clients. We see drones more as data collection tools rather than just flying cameras for photography.
“Being able to extract the data from these photos is where the value is for us and our clients” ~ Robert
Using a drone to rapidly capture data, across a large wide-open space such as a construction site, or in a complex hard to reach area or height, is the most efficient and safest way in order to retrieve the information required from the target area.
Using Rapid Data Collection methods with drones, cuts down the traditional manual time needed by standard human methods, in measuring, setting up equipment, walking and surveying an area, hiring expensive equipment and obtaining permits to close down footpaths in order to scissor lift into an area etc. Using a remotely piloted aircraft instead allows for quick ascension into an area, collect what’s needed as part of the operation and return safely.
“Typically, we turn the data around same business day for our clients and end users. Having the right data in front of them, empowers our clients to save money and time by making the right decision first time round” ~ Robert
As technology progresses and automation within drones increases, these data collection methods will become more streamline, and eventually not require to be remotely piloted, with all the sensors and ability for the drone to map and build an image of its surroundings in order to avoid obstacles while executing its mission.
It’s always exciting to imagine what we will be able to achieve tomorrow.
